영어를 네이티브 처럼 하고 싶어서 이것저것 찾다가 좋은 글을 발견해서 남긴다.
뭐.. 누구나 알고 있다고 생각이 드는 그런 글이지만, 역시 실천이 어렵지.
3 Tips For Native English Pronunciation
Do you know a lot of grammar and vocabulary, but you’re worried about your pronunciation?
Okay!! Today I have three tips to help you improve your pronunciation.
First, I want to offer a little note: in my opinion, good pronunciation is valuable, but having confidence and a good vocabulary is more important.
Don’t stress about pronunciation. If other people can understand you, that’s the most important point!
TIP #1: Listen A Lot
Listening will help you to familiarize yourself with native English sounds so that when you speak, you can imitate them.
You can listen to videos, podcasts, movies, TV shows, music, etc.
TIP #2: Shadow
Shadowing is a great pronunciation technique!
Just yesterday I noticed my friend’s 2 year old boy mimicking or shadowing what his parents were saying.
They said, “Let’s eat some fruit.”
And in return, he said, “Some fruit?”
He repeated right after his parents, so his grammar and pronunciation will soon be the same as theirs.
While you’re watching videos, you can use shadowing. Pause the video after each sentence, and try to repeat what is said.
TIP #3: Record Your Voice
I have done this several times while practicing with my students.
I read a short one page story and record my voice and then I ask them to do the same.
This helped them to realize where they were making mistakes and they could practice at home as well.
3번팁은... 도저히 못하겠다.
내 목소리를 녹음해서 들으면, 그냥 듣기싫어.
