»A vs An«
This is really important and I think it is will be helpful, so I will try to explain it simply.
📖 A:
So, "A" is used for consonant sounds. In most cases, you will only use "A" if the word after it begins with a consonant letter.
Example:
• A fire.
• A pizza.
• A bat.
• A friend.
All of the letters following are consonants, therefore you would use "A."
📖 An:
Unlike "A," "An" is used for vowel sounds. In most cases, you will only use "An" if the word after it begins with a vowel letter.
Example:
• An apple.
• An elephant.
• An umbrella.
• An egg.
All of the letters following are vowels, therefore you would use "An."
