뜻은 알지만 발음으로 헷갈리는 두 단어.

📝 »To vs Too«

People get these confused with each other. But I think if I try to explain it simply, it will be easier to understand. Let's try!

You should use "to" before a noun or before a verb.

Ex:

1. "Please go to the mall."
Noun: Mall. You are going TO that place.

2. "We don't need to leave right now."
Verb: Leave. You are going TO leave.

3. "You have to run to school every day!"
Verb: Run. You are going TO run.
Noun: School. You are going TO school.

~~~
You should use "too" as another meaning for "also." OR!! Use "too" to exaggerate a verb.
In most cases, if you can replace "too" with "also" in the same sentence, and it still makes sense, then you are using it correctly. Unless you are trying to show excessiveness (too much of something), then it would not make sense.
Example:
1. "I am going to the mall, too."
You ALSO want to go to the mall! In this case, "also" would make sense in this sentence.
2. "I had too many tacos for dinner."
You ate TOO many. It holds a negative feeling.
